Body Barriers to Mindset and How to Overcome Them
Without even realizing it, we are susceptible to body barriers that block even the most resilient of mindsets. Our thoughts and feelings about our bodies, our condition, and even our position affect our ability to achieve all we are able and want to.
In order to overcome these barriers, we need to address them and then give ourselves permission to deal with them (kindly and gently).
In this episode, we face it all head-on.
First, we outline the most common of these body barriers, using an easy-to-remember acronym, DTOOLLS:
D - Down
T - Tired
O - Old
O - “Out of Shape”
L - Less than
L - Lack
S - Sickness/Pain
We go through them, one by one, to emphasize the importance of acknowledging their effect on us, both in mind and body (and how they are intertwined); then, we talk about strategies to take away their power in order to allow our greater mindsets to do their jobs and rule the day.
